John Cordray, Professional Counselor

John Cordray, Owner of Cordray Counseling

I offer professional counseling for all ages and for all types of struggles and I invite you to get to know more about my practice. I offer both in-person and online counseling and coaching. If you’re looking for a marriage therapist, need help with anger management, have an anxious or depressed child, or need help with high anxiety, I can help.

I know that finding the right therapist can be difficult and overwhelming, and at times, down right frustrating. That’s why I work so hard to make it so easy for you.

I accept Anthem Blue Cross / Blue Shield Insurance

Click here to register if you are a new client and want to use (BC/BS) insurance.

Note: Insurance companies require a mental health diagnosis in order for you to use your insurance for counseling. This diagnosis will be applied to your medical record.

If your insurance company is not with Anthem Blue Cross / Blue Shield you still may qualify for reimbursement from your insurance company. I would be considered an “out of network provider” for your insurance company. This would mean that you pay my full rate at the time of the session and then I would give you a form to submit to your insurance company. Please check with your insurance company about reimbursement before you schedule with me.

COUPLES COUNSELING

Research has shown that at least 50% of all marriages end in divorce, with second and third marriages being even less likely to succeed. At first glance, it’s a scary statistic – but it doesn’t have to be if you and your spouse are willing to reach out for help. We help with building better communication, rekindling intimacy, anger management, conflict resolution, maintaing mutual respect and setting healthy boundaries.

FAMILY COUNSELING

Is someone in your family out of control? Do you have a child that seems to zap all of your time and energy? Having a hard time keeping peace in your home? Parenting is challenging enough in itself, but can become even more difficult if a child struggles with an emotional or behavioral problem. Family counseling can be with the whole family or just one child and parent, and can make a huge difference.

ADHD TESTING

Do you suspect that you or your child may have ADHD? ADHD effects millions of children and adults making it very difficult to do homework, pay attention in school, or focus on the job. Why continue to struggle any longer? ADHD testing is faster and easier than you may think. By the end of the testing you’ll receive a report indicating if you have ADHD or not, plus recommendations for your next step.

Cordray Counseling provides treatment for ADHD, Anger, Anxiety, Behavioral Issues, Blended Families, Conflict Resolution, Depression, Divorce & Separation, Grief & Loss, Life Adjustments, OCD, Phobias, Relationship Problems, Stress, Trichotillomania, and more.

DID YOU KNOW?

Insurance companies are unlikely to cover services such as marriage counseling or ADHD testing?

If your counselor is not an “in-network provider” you could still qualify for a reimbursement from your insurance company?

If you decide to use your insurance for counseling you must be given a mental health diagnosis and it becomes part of your permanent medical record? You don’t have to use your insurance for counseling.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

We believe that it takes the right counselor to be the right fit. Not all counselors are the same, and not all counselors will be a good fit for you. So, we won’t be offended if you decide to go to a different counselor that may be a better fit.

We believe everyone has a story to tell and deserves to be heard. We want to hear your story and we want to help you with your struggle.

We believe in the counseling process. Quality counseling takes time to reach the core of a struggle, and we are willing to help you discover what the underlying issue is that you are struggling with.

We believe that all hope and restoration can only be found in Jesus Christ. That being said, we will never force the Bible or religion on anyone who does not want Christian counseling.

We believe that God cares for hurting people. “In my distress I cried to the LORD, and he heard me.” Psalm 120:1
